Smoothwalk 9mm, a good all-round underlay that is very easy to fit and handle, the non-woven fabric backing is more durable and does not tear in the way that paper does, whilst the extra density ensures a longer lasting carpet.

Smoothwalk has an impressive sound impact reduction value of 41db, together with heat insulation properties, rated as 2.75 tog. The 9mm thickness is eminently suitable for stairs and indeed anywhere around the home.
